Bomberman 64
- Weird Skating Mode
By Plob Grendle ([email protected])
For this trick, you MUST have a heart, and remote bombs help. In Black Fortress, on the level with the cars, stand on the very edge
of a platform, and place a bomb, but don't move. The bomb should be underneath you. When a car is coming, detonate the bomb, and
hopefully you will lose your heart, go spinning around like always when you lose a heart, and fall off the platform into the path of the
car while you are still flashing. Once you have stopped flashing, you can move around, but Bomberman's legs will not move! He
looks like he is standing still, but moving! Unfortunately, you can't throw bombs like this, only kick them, so just grab your heart again,
and run into a car so your heart flies out, and run along to get it again. It's not much, but it looks pretty cool.
- 100 Card Changes
By Plob Grendle ([email protected])
- When you get 100 gold cards and watch the "ending" bit with Sirius taking the Omni Cube, you can go back to the other levels, and
there will be some small changes everywhere that Sirius usually is. For starters, go to any level where Sirius stands around to give
you advice. Talk to him, and he says something different, like "It is no use opposing me now, just lay down and die" or something.
Also, a big change is that in all the Stage 4's, (except for Black Fortress, where it is Stage 2) instead of Sirius coming in to drop off
the remote bombs, there will be a little green crystal, where you can only just see a Remote item, and you have to break it open to
get Remote Bombs. And one more really small thing: Sirius's eyes are now green.
- Rotating Bombermen
By Squigly ([email protected])
- Here's a useful little feature available in the Custom design mode. When choosing what to have your bomberman look like (where it
says "Name, HEad, Body, etc) press the right flipper on your controller (the one above the camera buttons) or the "Z" trigger and
hold it down. The bomberman should now rotate, so you can see him from different angles, not really a trick, but a feature not listed
in the manual none the less.
- Walk on Air
By Moon Tux J
- In Bomberman 64 the programmers mustof forgot to draw in some of the ground because in some levals you can walk off the area
and into the air.
- Holographic Pillars and Walls
By Moon Tux J
- In Red 1 go to the remore bomb area. Stop right at the end of the metal walkway and change camera angles until your facing the
wall. Pick up a bomb and throw it into the wall and the bomb should go inside it and dissapear.
This trick also works with the pillars in Red 1 - Go up the long metal ledge to the right of the remote bombs area in Red 1 to the large
area with the 2 fire blowing rocks. Pick up a bomb and throw it off the edge to the right towards the area of land below. The bomb
will go straight through the land and dissapear. This also works with the red grate below.
- Head Jump
By Robert Slack ([email protected])
In an area where you have a platform about a pumped bomb's height higher than you are and about a pumped bomb's height from
you down to the ground/other platform such as rainbow 3's wall platforms, throw a pumped bomb on the platform below you with
your back to the platform you want to get on top of and then face the platform above you and get as close to it as possible then
throw a pumped bomb at the platform so that it hits you in the head and you fall unconscious and on to the bomb below you and
bounce up to the bomb you just threw and up onto the platform you want to get up onto. It works about 9 out of ten times.
- Block Your Bomberman Buddies With Bombs
By Mr. Raider ([email protected])
- You bought Bomberman 64 for one reason, right? Battle mode!! If you suck at battle mode and want to win, here is an easy way to
win rounds. Make sure that you can throw at least 3 bombs, then aim yourself so that your opponent is stuck near a wall. Drop then
kick your as many bombs as fast as you can, then run away. What will happen is that your enemy will get dizzy from the first bomb
that hit them, and they won't be able to get up because you hit them so many times! If they do happen to get away, they will have to
walk past all the bombs that you kicked. Another technique my friend and I like to call 'Chain Reaction' can be hard to do. What you
do is throw a bomb into an explosion that is already happening. This will make the explosion bigger, eliminating any other bombermen
who are foolish enough to be standing that close!

Target Timing
By MetroidMoo ([email protected])
I've noticed that the clock in Adventure Mode lets you know when you are before or after the Target Time in that stage and here's
how. When the numbers on the clock are yellow that means that you are before the Target Time and as soon as it reaches the
Target Time the numbers turn red. This is helpful if you don't like having to pause the game to see if it's before or after the Target
Time.
Personalized Victory Cries
By: Jared Bagley
When wearing a FULL suit of custom clothing in Battle Mode, your victory cry will differ when receiving your gold coin/trophy. IE:
if you wear the Chicken Head, Horse Stick, Bunny Slippers, and Chicken Wings, your character will say "Bock, Bock, Bock!" As his
Victory cry. The Knight Armor says "Yes!". The Dragon Armor will say "I'm the best!"
Blind Corners
By: JRF and MCC
In the first level Gardens or whatever it's called. Get the remote bombs and walk back to the first area through the dragons mouth.
Then walk to where the pots are 3 on each side and where the warp is andd the blue pillars lower right hand corner pillar. Now pick
up the bomb, pump it up all the way and aim for the corner of the pillar. If done right the bomb should dissaper into the pillar. May
take some practice
Secret Areas
By: MetroidMoo ([email protected])
In "Blizzard Peaks" on White Glacier there are hidden areas (there might be more that I didn't find). One of them is in an area where
the wind blows. Go to the middle section, then go near the incline. There is space in the wall which you can go through. When you
go through, the hidden area should be filled with yellow flowers which contain power-ups and gems. If you are on Hard one of them
contains a Custom part which is the Chicken Head.Another one is the other area with wind. Now go to the middle section, and then
go oppisite of the incline and there should be another space. Go through and you should find pink flowers. They have power-ups and
gems.At the beginining, go to the area where there is a bunch of snow at the top. Get rid of the snow by putting a bomb by it. Now
go to the top and fall down to the next highest section with the tree. Now go to the coner where the 2 walls meet. There should be a
space which you go through.Go through to get 1 power-up.
Icy Sign
By: MetroidMoo ([email protected])
On "Blizzard Peaks" you know there is a sign sheeted with ice at the begining that you can't read. But you can!!! Just lay a bomb
beside it and then when it blows up the ice will be destroyed. The sign says, "Danger! Danger! Beware of avalanches! Do not use
many bombs."You can guess why (because you will start one if you lay a bomb beside it).
Special Suits in Battle Mode
By: The Bomberman 64 FAQ, Gary Schweisthal, Alex ([email protected]), Matt Roberson, and MagiKoopah
You'll start with a full Knight outfit you can wear in Battlemode. To get new Outfits search all the levels for hidden parts to the
outfits. You can access the outfit at the spot where you save your game put Customize.
Parts:
Knight Armor - You already have it when you start
Drill Arm - This battle mode item can be found on Black 1. It is at the very end of the 5th room on the median. In order to get there
you must fall from one of the platforms, onto the median, and bomb jump your way up 2 more medians. The remote is helpful. Blow
up the box at the end of the room and the drill arm is yours.
Tennis Shoes - In the blue resort. In level 1 under the bridge that has a box under it and a blue guy on bridge.
Dragon Head - Green 1 - As shown in the final credit sequence, create a bomb staircase up to the teleporter in the first section.
The teleporter will take you to another small room which contains this costume piece.
Iron Goggles - Red 1 - There are three metal doors one the first level, all of which need red bombs to open. This costume piece is
located inside the door which is connected to your starting platform. There is a small ramp right before it, so you'll have bomb jump
to enter.
Chicken Head - White 1 - On the final section of this level, there is a cottage with a snowman on top, which you need to destroy
to reach the switch activating the ski lift. Don't blow up the house. Destroy the snow man with little bombs. Then use the small ledge
to create a bomb jump to the top of the house. There will be a small platform to the right of the house with one tree (the costume
piece). After getting the piece, fall off the platform to the left (towards the moutain).
Samurai Head - N/A - Beat the game with 120 gold cards.
Dragon Mail - Green 3 - On the first section, you'll notice a teleporter across a bit of water, which you can't reach at first. Get the
detonator, and remove all the blocks in that area. Then put a bomb in the elevator (don't detonate it yet!). Then put two large bombs,
one on top of the other, against the wall, as close to the edge of the platform as possible. The easiest way to do this is to face the
wall and throw the bombs. Then use the elevator to go up, and line yourself up with those bombs. Then carefully walk off and push
in the direction of the teleporter. If all goes well, you should bounce off the bombs and into the teleporter.
Iron Armor - White 1 - Go the way of the avalanche. At the very top of the second section is a cottage. Blow it up with a big
bomb. On the other side is a tree with the costume piece.
Cat Suit - Blue 3 - After draining the water, it is in one of the pots near the edge, under a bridge (where it was previously
underwater).
Cat Hood - N/A - To get the cat hood go to that hole in the building where you can get throw a bomb in to get jems,That is the
Entrance! Set up some Bombs that lead from the stairs to this window, you don't need to stack Em. once in the house just steer
towards the pot!!
Dress - Black 3 - The instructions to get this piece are actually in the credit sequence. On the second section, there is an elevator
block which is seemingly unreachable. Complete the section as normal, and activate the first elevator. Going up will take you to a
suspended platform with three planks. Walk of the last plank, and you should fall on top of one of the four sections below. Use a
couple small bombs to bomb hop from one section to another, until you find the other section. This secret section is rather large, but
isn't to difficult. The costume piece is near the gold card, I believe.
Rocking Horse - Red 3 - Getting to this costume piece is fairly easy compared to some of the others. At the very end of the level,
there will be a platform which you need to make fall by destroying the supporting pillars. Before you do that, fall through the hole it
will eventually plug. This costume piece should be in a furnace block real close by. Use the tracks to escape the area.
Shogun Kimono - N/A - Beat the game with 120 cards.
Knight Shoes - N/A - Given to you at the beginning
Dragon Spikes - Green 3 - On the last section of this level (with the big tower), on the far wall of the structure, facing away from
the teleporter which brought you here, is a secret entrance. It looks like a wall, but you can walk through it. You can find it by pulling
the camera in as close as possible, and standing next to the wall. Rotate the camera until it is inside the building. There will be two
pots in there, one of which is the Dragon Spikes.
Iron Sneakers - White 3 - Go through the right door once you start. When sliding down the slide, it is in a tree to the far left
(opposite side than the switch).
Cat Paws - Red 3 - There is only one metal door on this level, and the cat shoes are behind it. The red bomb is actually in the barrel
which is close to the door, but don't blow up the barrel which you need to walk there by accident. If you do, just leave the area and
come back.
High Tops - Blue 3 - On Cliff, after first dam (get it beforehand)
Bunny Socks - Black 3 - In the second section, there is a [::] switch. On a wall right next to it are a couple blocks. One of them wil
have the costume piece.
High Heels - N/A - Beat the game with 120 gold cards.
Knight Sword - N/A - Given to you at the beginning
Dragon Gloves - Green 1 - After receiving the Red Bombs, head towards the second section, and enter the teleporter on the left
(which is obscured behind a wall). You will need the Red Bomb to blow up the blue pillars. After going through the teleporter, this
costume piece will be easy to find in that room.
Iron Nuckles - Blue 1 - This one is easy. It is in the same room as the switch which opens the exit.
Slash Claws - Red 1 - Knock down the planks to go the alternative way. Near the exit, you will find yourself right above a single
block on a short railroad track. kick a bomb off your higher ground, but use the R-button to stop it as soon as it leaves the platform. It
should land right on top of the piece. After the explosion, drop down and get the piece. Use the broken tracks to fall down to the
bottom level.
Chicken Wings - White 3 - Once first starting, head through the white door. This costume piece will be easy to find, but the
strange view might make it seem harder than it is. The costume piece will be out on a ledge in that section, and somewhat hard to
navigate to.
Fan - N/A - Beat the game with 120 gold cards.
Pony Tails and Duck Feet: - You can find these custom parts in Rainbow Palace in Stage 3. In the main room, in the wall closest
to the small stair case in the ground, there is an opening in the wall. You go through the wall and use a bunch of bombs to work your
way through the platforms in the sky until you reach a large platform with two blocks that can be blown up. After they are blown up,
the Pony Tails and Duck Feet are yours.
SunGlasses: - The sunglasses are hidden on Black Level 5-3. To get them is not easy. First you must hit the panel on the floor that
has 2 dots on them. You then go across and hit the panel on the floor that has 4 dots on them. Proceed back and then hit the panel
with 3 dots on it. Now here comes that hard part. If you are facing straight(right after you get off the elevator) go and take the path
that appears when you hit the panel with 3 dots. Go up the stairs when you get to them. The best way I found to do this part is this:
1. Put two big bombs on top of each other against the wall on the other side. 2. Place another big bomb just a little bit away from the
2 big bombs. 3. Make a bunch of little bombs leading back to the wall on the other side, but make them the right distance so that you
can bounce from one bomb to another. Go back up the staircase that you went up before and jump on to the bombs you just laid out.
If you did it right and get a little lucky. You will bounce across and end up on top of the other side. If you made it, head for the
elevator and continue down the paths until you're by the other elevator. You will see that there is a floor now connecting the two
other floors. A lot of people must have wondered how to get those there. Go across those floors and you will find a box. Blow up the
box and you'll get it!!
Duck Float: - This custom part can be found in Stage 1 of Rainbow Palace. First you must reach the switch using a bunch of
bombs. Once you get the switch, a few platforms will move, letting you reach the exit. Before going to the exit, reach the last
platform in front of it and pump a bomb (remote bombs are a must). Throw the bomb onto the platform directly to your right. Pump
another bomb and throw it to the platform after the first to your right and lastly, pump one more bomb and throw it onto the last
pumped bomb so that it bounces off a lands on another platform (the one closest to the custom part). Then you jump on the first
bomb (just fall onto it and let yourself bounce to a platform. DON'T tilt the joystick while you do it or you'll bounce off a fall down).
You'll bounce to the next bomb and then to a high platform. Fall from there to your other bomb and you'll land on the platofrm where
there's a block that contains the Duck Float. I found it useful to get a heart item first (usually from Blue Resort) before you try this.
Drop a bomb in front of the block and detonate it. Your heart item will protect you from the blast and the Duck Float is yours (it's
probably much easier to fall and die after you get this than to work your way back).
